ABOUT THE EVENT

The Nursery Theatre’s improv jams have been a meeting space for improvisers, creative professionals and anyone-wanting-to-improv for many years. This includes its in-person edition in London called ‘Thursday Night Lights’, and more recently, its online version on Tuesdays that ran for 75+ weeks and witnessed participation from over 500 improvisers around the world!

MEET YOUR HOST

Juwel Haque (he/him) is an improvisation teacher, actor, and director. He is known and trusted for being an innovative and insightful, supportive and delightful improviser and facilitator. Juwel teaches beginners’ and long-form improv classes and courses for The Nursery Theatre and The Maydays. He loves to help his students surprise and delight themselves and each other, offering safety, encouragement, and challenge. Juwel develops exercises and games that show and teach complex concepts in an easy and fun manner and is generous with his knowledge.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The jam is open to all levels of improv experience and is led by a jam host who introduces each game and leads a short group warm-up. Typically our jams are structured into two sections: a medley of short-form games to freshen up your improv muscles, followed by a montage of longer scenes.
