Join The Mono Box and director Wiebke Green for this practical workshop that will explore the techniques behind performing and filming theatrical monologues. Specifically, it’ll interrogate how to keep the performer-audience relationship feeling immediate and alive while being remote.

The workshop will take place in three stages:
Stage 1: How to approach a monologue: textual analysis and preparation
Stage 2: Relationship to the lens: audience, dialogue, asides
Stage 3: Creating the world down the lens: space, placement, intensity.

The workshop will equip you with the tools to confidently film theatrical monologues and self-tapes. At the end of the workshop, you’ll be given the opportunity to record a self-tape at home and receive individual, short written feedback from Wiebke.
