Writer callout!

Are you writing for the screen or the stage, and interested in how writing naturalistic dialogue?

Anne is currently working on a book about the musicality of the spoken voice for actors and voice coaches, in collaboration with linguistics professor Beatrice Szczepek Reed at Lancaster University. Beatrice’s research focuses on the musicality, or prosody, of everyday conversationalists.

We’re now looking to work with a group of writers who’d be interested in creating or submitting short scenes or texts that actors and voice coaches could use alongside the book. The aim is to develop material that draws on the rhythms and patterns of real-life talk. Anne will lead you through three key principles of the musicality real-life talk, sharing many samples and writing prompts. If you attend this free workshop, you will also have the opportunity to submit a scene to be included in a textbook for actors.*

Join us for this unique free writer's workshop on:
Thursday 26th February @ Theatre Deli Leadenhall St, Studio 25 6:30pm-8:30pm

Please get in touch if you have any questions or RSVP to Anne at:

* If a scene is chosen and agreed with the author to appear in the book, the authors of the scene retain all rights and will be credited appropriately in the book. A letter of agreement will be signed between the author of the scene (you) and the author of the book ‘The Responsive Voice’ (Anne Whitaker & Beatrice Szczepek Reed) maintaining that the author of the scene (you) maintains the rights but agrees for the scene to appear in all published editions of ‘The Responsive Voice’ royalty free, but with clear and appropriate credit to the author of the scene (you). *

Warm wishes,
Anne
