Looking for a Lighting and Video Projection Collaborator for We Are All Fish
We are looking for a student, recent graduate or emerging technical theatre artist to join *We Are All Fish*, a visual and physical theatre production combining live performance, stop motion animation, projection, live voice acting, paper scenography and a mechanical set.
We are especially interested in someone with experience or a strong interest in **video projection, projection mapping, lighting, QLab and digital media for live performance**.
The piece explores **gravity, connection, loneliness and isolation**, and the idea that people can affect one another even when they do not know each other or realise that they are connected.
The staging moves between three worlds. Two cats exist through projected stop motion environments, while the live character Vera, performed by physical theatre performer Chien Hui Yen, inhabits a mechanical world built around a large central cog and paper based scenic environment.
Projection is a major part of the work. We want to experiment with projecting onto **paper, card, objects and parts of the physical set**, rather than simply using a conventional screen.
A lot of visual material is already being developed, including animation, illustration, stop motion, origami and scenic elements. We are looking for someone who wants to bring their own creative ideas and visual approach to the project, not simply operate finished cues.
Performances:
2 November 2026
10 minute presentation at The Cockpit Theatre
9 and 10 November 2026, 7pm
Full performances at Theatro Technis
Part of Voilà! Theatre Festival
This is currently an independent research and development production with a limited budget. We are working on a profit share basis, with full production credit. After presentation we will go next year into full run production.
This would suit someone genuinely interested in experimental theatre, projection mapping, lighting and building practical live production experience.
London based.
