Hi all, I'm looking for three actors for a rehearsed reading at the Cockpit Theatre on June 4. It would involve a 2 hour rehearsal the week of the reading and for the reading itself, so about 3 hours work in total and can offer £60, which I know isn't much but is half an ITC day rate and there's no external funding attached to the project yet.

1 female actor with a playing age of early thirties to play the lead role. The character is sometimes treated unkindly by people around her on the basis of her being overweight.

1 male actor to multirole.

1 female actor to multirole.

Tara tells the story of a young woman with an undiagnosed illness as she navigates trying to both live a normal life and trying to get her condition taken seriously and treated. It also explores the realities of online dating and the unfair expectations that women face around their appearance.

Feedback I've had on it so far has been positive about how the audience cares for the heroine, and how the tone is balanced between being funny, feminist, and sometimes quite raw.
