Hello everyone! My name is Dylan Smith (he/him/his). I am an MA Theatre Directing student at the University of East London. I am currently seeking actors to work with for my final project, a one act play called The Knowledge of Sin.

Here's a brief synopsis of the play:
A gripping one-act drama that unfolds in a tense therapy session between an ex-convict and his anger management counsellor. Frank, a tough, street-smart man in his 30s, is on the verge of gaining visitation rights for his son. Abbott, a composed and methodical counsellor, holds the key to his freedom. As their final session unravels, deep-seated emotions, secrets, and raw truths emerge, forcing both men to confront their pasts.

I am looking for two male-identifying actors who can deliver vulnerable and passionate performances as well as the ability to work with expressionist movement storytelling. One character [Frank] is roughly his late 20s to early 30s. The other character [Abbott] is roughly in his late 30s to early 50s.

PLEASE NOTE that this is an unpaid opportunity and will occur for one public performance as part of a fringe festival hosted by UEL. This performance will take place somewhere between 30 June 2025 and 14 July 2025. Rehearsals are expected to start in early May with full details to be determined.
