Interested in sustainability in theatre? Bringing a show to VAULT Festival 2023? Come along to our friendly, relaxed workshop and meet up!

Environmental responsibilities can be carried through in so many aspects in a theatre-making process: production design, sourcing materials, building, choosing an interesting theme/story, and so much more! In this session, you will be able to learn and discuss about what it means to make theatre sustainably, especially under a theatre festival context.

The first half of the session will involve a workshop exploring sustainable theatre design & building and choice of themes and stories. The second half will be a relaxed networking and/or chatting session.

Whether you are a writer, actor, designer, director, work in stage management, production or administration, student or professional or community based, please come along! We’re keen to hear from people who are involved in activism, environmental work and/or research – but also you can be still learning about how to get involved in sustainability in theatre and tackling the climate crisis.

This workshop is co-hosted by Wise Ram Theatre and guest facilitators from the company of Caligula and the Sea (VAULT Festival 2023): Fiona McKeon (Production Designer) and Yuxuan Liu (Director).
