What?
A three-part workshop series for performance makers inspired by the Six Viewpoints theory & practice, looking specifically at the material of Story.

Over three weekly 2hr sessions participants will explore Story in dialogue with each of the other materials of performance (Space, Shape, Time, Emotion & Movement). We will look at different approaches to constructing and identifying logic, patterns and structures in performance and experiment with composition using both text and movement. Drawing primarily on the Six Viewpoints this workshop will look at how the practice can support a diverse range of dramaturgical approaches.

About the Six Viewpoints
Originated by choreographer Mary Overlie, the Six Viewpoints is a study that establishes and expands the base of performance by inquiring into the vocabulary of the basic materials that are found in the creation of art. Resulting from Mary’s decades long investigation into the materials and search for a common language of performance, this work (and its many re-iterations) has formed the basis of theatre and dance training around the world as it complements and expands on more traditional forms, simultaneously nurturing artistic agency and a collaborative mind.
