Monday 18th September, 2pm - 4pm, Studio 6 | Acting Masterclass with Barbara Houseman
"Barbara's work starts with voice, passes through the physical and
results in a character. Her teaching helps total performance." - Jude
Law
This Masterclass will be tailored to the participants. Ask
about any aspect of voice or acting that is challenging you or you are
curious about and Barbara will share exercises directly relevant to that
aspect. This is a rich opportunity to learn the tools and techniques
Barbara has shared with actors and singers in West End shows and with
her A-list actors. Barbara is passionate about accessibility and
empowerment and whatever level you’re at with your voice or acting you
will be treated with respected and kindness. Come and join her so you
can learn how to have more confidence, ease, creativity, skill and fun
in your acting and increase your chances of getting work.
Tuesday 19th September, 2pm-5pm, Studio 4 | Meisner Technique with Max Harrison, Lidless Theatre
During the class we will look at developing spontaneity,
impulsiveness and listening through the Meisner Technique. The simple
but profound exercise gives an actor all the basic tools they need to
develop an impulsivity and instinct that will serve you in any
character, in any play. Once mastered, you will be in spontaneous free
flow between yourself and your scene partner, allowing deep and
truthful emotions to surface and 'riding the river' of feeling between each other.
Wednesday 20th September, 2pm-5pm, Studio 9 | Lou Stein Studio
Following his extremely successful five years as Chickenshed's Artistic Director, Lou has launched Lou Stein Studio for inclusive skills training of professional actors and creatives, welcoming and led by actors with cognitive challenges. This
is a space for developing those skills and learning to use them outside
the context of performance. Lou’s own expertise in ensemble performance
forms the cornerstone of each session.
Wednesday 20th September, 6pm-9pm, Studio 1 | Acting Gymnasium with Gavin McAlinden
Acting Gymnasium
is a unique weekly voice and classical acting workshop that culminates
in a weeklong production of a classic play over 8 performances. Many
Alumni have used the workshop as a springboard successfully attracting
the attention of agents and industry professionals. Former members have
gone on to perform in the West End and in regional theatres, and
land roles with major television productions companies including BBC, HBO, NETFLIX and Amazon Prime.

Our inclusive approach ensures accessibility to individuals from diverse
backgrounds. We collaborate with artists, mental health professionals,

well-being. Our mission is to promote and celebrate the power of art in

This creates a character that is authentic, layered and present in the moment. You’ll learn all about the 12 steps, why they’re in that order and how they work to provide you with a powerful and effective process.
